I tried putting the weapon into the hands of some WoW creatures I got from exporting them out of model viewer. The charms in the back arent quite where I want them at yet, but I've got some ideas on what to do with that.
This is probably it for today. Need to get ready for new years shenanigans but I'm liking how it looks so far. It's odd how part of the diffuse can look terrible, then when put on the actual model it works out. /shrug
Still mostly flat colors just to get an idea of the composition, the shaft of the spear is really the only part I've put much work into. Not terribly happy with how it looks so far, just means it will need more work.
With them adding a new weapons category this year I decided I would give it a go and enter, what's the worst that could happen right? I spent a while trying to think of what exactly it was I wanted to make. I finally settled on something basic, Murloc tribal weaponry. I settled on some doodle I did while work was slow. It's fairly basic, but I think it will be fun to do none the less.
I didn't show progress updates on this because I felt the improvement was best seen all at once rather than in small updates. Not the entirety of the texture is fully repainted, it's about 98% and there is a normal map now.
I really need to stop taking breaks from work. It becomes a hassle when I try and start being productive again and I feel I need to learn stuff from scratch. Back to some basics, trying to relearn myself to paint wood.
